Hang tough, you groundhogs...

It is a long, cold winter. So many of us are sick of it, and some are just plain sick at the moment. I also happen to be in the midst of some very difficult personal things this week, and dealing with it all while totally alone and isolated; not a soul around to talk to. But this too, like the winter, will pass.  We're all tired of the cold and the wind and the now-grey snow and ice, long ago stripped of its December purity and novelty. We're all wondering "is this going to go on forever?" By late February, it is not uncommon for us to start turning inward, doubting our own worth and the worth of our pursuits.

So let me be the first to remind everyone...NO, it is NOT going to go on forever.  Don't let the cold IN (you, that is). The best part of winter is that there will always be a spring to follow. Hang tough and stay the course, and I'll see you over the first outdoor brunch in just a few weeks, when we can look back and laugh and say "whew...that was a rough one." We're almost there.
